The concept of thermoforming
【misunderstand】"All plastic processing is thermoforming!"
【positive solution】Thermoforming refers to the plastic sheet after heating, through the vacuum, air pressure, mechanical pressure or a combination of forming process, is a method of plastic secondary processing
1. Thermoforming is a method of manufacturing products using thermoplastic sheets as raw materials. The general thermoforming process is: first, the sheet cut into a certain size and shape is clamped on the mold frame, heating it to a high elastic state between Tg and Tf, the sheet is heated and extended, and then the applied pressure is applied to make it close to the mold surface, so as to obtain a similar shape to the mold surface, and the product is obtained after cooling and shaping.
2. During thermoforming, the pressure applied mainly depends on the pressure difference formed by vacuuming and introducing compressed air on both sides of the sheet, and also by means of mechanical pressure and liquid pressure. Thermoforming is different from injection molding, extrusion and other processing processes, not for plastic resin or particles for heating molding or molding or continuous molding through the mouth die, nor is the use of machine tools, tools and other machining means, a part of the plastic material cut down, to obtain the required shape, size, but for plastic plate (sheet) material, heating. The use of mold, vacuum or pressure to deform the plate (sheet) to achieve the required shape and size, supplemented by supporting processes, to achieve the purpose of application.
3.Thermoforming technology has fast processing speed, high degree of automation, cheap and easy to replace molds, strong adaptability, can produce as large as aircraft and car parts, as small as beverage cups such products. Scraps are easy to recycle. It can be processed as thin as 0.05mm thick sheet, can also be processed as thick as 15mm sheet; These plates (sheets) may be transparent or opaque, crystalline or amorphous. The pattern pattern can be printed on the sheet first, and the pattern with bright colors can also be printed after forming.
