Placon and P&G Gillette's Pack Dev team have introduced the unique Asion ProGlide with FLEXBALL packaging design. The designed packaging is very attractive on the shelf, has good protection function, is easy to open, while giving consumers a very economical feeling.

Placon and P&G Gillette's Pack Dev team designed the Fusion ProGlide in a highly unique Terakawa FLEXBALL package. The product uses a complex matching metal mold. Placon perforates the perimeter of the thermoformed PET blister. The blister is sealed to a cardboard insert, and consumers can use the package's pull sheet to smoothly and easily separate the PET blister along the perforation.
As a separate step, Placon uses two pressure-sensitive film labels on the transparent blister. The final thermoformed product is designed to be fully integrated with Gillette's high-speed automated manufacturing process.
MikeKnight, Domestic Sales Manager at Placon, said: "We are constantly addressing the issues raised by the PackDev team at Gillette, working on packaging designs and developing thermoforming technology to meet their final design requirements. The packaging is designed to be very noticeable on the shelf, has good protection, is easy to open, and gives consumers a very economical feeling."
The product was awarded the AmeriStar Award by the Association of Packaging Professionals and Technicians (IOPP) in 2015. The IOPP recognizes excellent packaging products in areas ranging from innovation and product protection to marketing and environmental impact.

Placon's Gillette Venus® Swirl™ with FLEXIBALL™ also won the 2015 DuPont Silver Award. Developed in collaboration with Gillette and think4D, this unique packaging uses sophisticated thermoforming technology introduced in the Venus &Olay Packaging Design (2013 DuPont Gold Award).
