The classic large-sized disposable beverage cups, which everyone can recall from movies and TV shows, are half-filled with various drinks or crushed and thrown away after use. This may seem like a simple item with no economic value, but it actually embodies real technology and engineering. Extensive research has been conducted on it from all aspects, including its perfect shape, to ensure that they do not stick together when stacked and are easy to remove from the mold during production. The curved lip prevents one cup from nesting too deeply inside another, and the harder bottom allows for more air circulation between stacked cups. The cups themselves have high rigidity and do not bend after filling, requiring no excessive grip force.

   WM thermoforming machines, a Swiss thermoforming machine manufacturer, followed the trend of large red PP cups in the United States last year. A total of four online systems were delivered, with two sold to the US market, where it is a traditional product, and the other two to Europe, where large red cups are a new trend. The model of this online system is INTEC FT 900/3. The process starts with the automatic metering and feeding of PP pellets and ends with the recycling of waste. The waste is crushed into fragments and re-fed into the metering device at the end of the production line.

   The production line is equipped with a complete set of new extrusion units manufactured by WM thermoforming machines. The N.EXT 75 extruder has a screw diameter of 75mm, and the two co-extruders N.EXT 45 have a screw diameter of 45mm. The total extrusion capacity of the extrusion units is 1096kg/h.
