    Challenge
For six years, the team at Berry Plastics has been dedicated to developing Versalite technology. Their goal is to create a material with insulation properties similar to EPS foam, but with superior performance and experience in environmental protection.
To explore new frontiers, the team at Berry Plastics asked themselves: "How can Berry Plastics bring its experience into the hot cup market?"

    Result
A few years ago, Berry Plastics had already invested in polypropylene technology, knowing that it was a key factor in creating a game-changing product that combined sustainability, performance and experience. Based on this, the Versalite technology was born and produced in the form of cups.
Versalite is made of polypropylene and is fully recyclable. In fact, end-market users such as KW Plastics have already incorporated this material into their existing recycling streams and accepted it.
Versalite cups are fully recyclable and have a lower environmental impact than the majority of the paper hot cup options tested in most of the evaluated impact categories.
    Characteristics
Environment: Environmental responsibility, easy to recycle, more effective than EPS foam.
Performance: Puncture resistance and crack resistance, single cup lid, visual effect
Experience: Thermal management, design usability, user preferences
